The Mr Brightside project was set up by family and friends, in memory of Stephen Johns who after a short 7 week battle against bowel cancer died at the young age of 26.
The Mr Brightside Project became a charity in January 2010 to carry on Stephen's legacy, Stephen lived everyday of his life to the full, with a smile on his face and a glint in his eye.
Why Mr Brightside project? Stephen had a great zest for life loving nothing better than a fancy dress party with a Karaoke. He spent many an evening screaming one of his favourite bands The Killers song Mr Brightside. In life Mr Brightside suited him.
The project aims to raise funds to advance the education of the public in the causes, diagnosis and treatment of bowel cancer and preserve and protect the health of patients and their families in the cancer units in the UK by providing and assisting in the provision of facilities, support services and equipment that is not normally provided.
